Before the beginning of the final competition of Shanghai Stop, Member of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China Sha Hai Lin, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Office for Taiwan Affairs Li Wen Hui, Director-General of Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau Huang Yong Ping, Secretary of Bao Shan District Committee Wang Hong and other directors or guests were invited to visit basketball players from Shanghai and Taiwan, and take a group picture with the players to mark the occasion of promoting culture exchange between Mainland and Taiwan. NBA Star Yao Ming went straight to the sports court of the game and attended News Conference for ‘The Strait Cup’, watching the full game once he arrived at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, while he just completed his trip to Hall of Fame in USA.

Shanghai Stop of 2016 ‘The Strait Cup’ Invitational basketball competition lasted three days, there were three groups and six basketball teams from Shanghai and Taipei attended this competition. Including Professional group, High school group and University group, among these, High School group was formed by Shanghai Nanyang Model School and Taipei Municipal Sung Shan Senior High School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University with long history of cultural education would versus Taiwan Technology University referred as ‘cradle of basketball players’, these two groups completed the games on September 12th and 13th respectively.
